The other thing I see we need is to trust everyone as a Ghanaian instead of the other person. Such limitations do not seem to bring out the best in us. Until the last name I carry does not connote any meaning to the person am dealing with, we will continue to have problems. Experience is one vital tool we need to use. Our experience with each other should transcend our regional boundaries. We must start as a matter of urgency to use all our available human resources in a way that will benefit us.
1. Police personal should be deployed in regions other than where they came from. This ameliorates bribery and corruption.
2. Heads of second cycle schools should also be treated in the same manner
3. Regional Ministers should also be moved out and the deputy kept as indigenes of the place.
4. Regional directors or whatever their title is should be moved out of the region.
There are other agencies that should be treated as the ones named above. I have two cogent reasons for saying this.
a. I have worked with two schools in the northern parts of Ghana and I know what the headmasters go thru trying to throw off close relatives and distant relatives when it comes to admissions.
b. I have a police friend here in the US but he does not work in the city where he lives. He drives about forty miles to work in another city. When I asked him why he told me that is how it works here for efficient law enforcement.
The other thing that I will pay much attention to is the time consciuosness of the people. Anyone who can get us to change our attitude to time will be my hero.
